This work started in spring 2012 when a friend sent me the picture of a woman he said looked like me. At first, I detested the picture. But after examining this woman more and more scrupulously I left my anger aside and a kind of curiosity surfaced. I started examining her, accepting her, copying her by gaining weight. Except from trying to look like her from the outside, I also started to try and establish an unusual type of relationship with her, by trying to understand the type of person she was, her habits, her character...After almost 2 years, one couldn’t make the difference between us: even our gaze became similar. At this point I decided to redo my passport and all other official documents relating to my identity. Now, I need to prove that “I am me” each time that I show my ID.
